免税店・ギフトショップで使う英会話

海外旅情に行けばほぼ100％の人が利用する免税店やギフトショップでの英会話をご紹介します。難しい表現はほとんどありませんが、返品やお釣りの間違いなどトラブルに対応できるよう押さえておいて下さい。

(免税を受けるためにはいくら購入する必要がありますか?)

(免税をお受けになりますか?)

■This item might be taken by customs.
(この商品は税関で没収されるかもしれません)

■I would like you not to open this package before you leave America.
(アメリカを出国するまで開封しないようにお願いします)

■Please remember not to open the sealed bag till you leave America.
(アメリカを出国するまで密封バッグを開けないようにしてください)

■Items have to be taken out of America within 30 days.
(商品は30日以内にアメリカから持ち出さなければいけません)

■You are not allowed to use the items in the country.
(国内での使用は認められていません)

□What if I opened the bag before I am out of the country?
(万が一出国するまでに開封してしまったらどうなりますか?)

What ifは What will [would] happen if・・・?の略になります。

■You might be charged tax at the departure.
(出国時に課税されるかもしれません)

ギフトショップでのお客様への挨拶

(こんにちは。お元気ですか?)

(元気ですか?)

「How are you?」には、特別な意味はあまりないので、そのまま「How are you?」聞き返しても構いません。もちろん「元気だよ」と返答しても大丈夫です。

商品を勧める

■I think the key ring suits you.
(そのキーチェーンは似合うと思いますよ)

■This is the best seller in this shop.
(これは、この店のベストセラーです)

■This is really popular in France.
(これはフランスでとても人気があります)

■This is really popular among young girls.
(これはフランスの若い女性の間でとても人気があります)

□Can I try this on?
(試着してもいいですか?)

try on=試着する

■Just let me know if you need.
(もし何かあれば、お知らせくださいね)

■How is it?
(どうですか?)

□I think this is a little bit tight so could you please bring me one size bigger?
(ちょっとタイトですね。これより一つ大きいサイズを持ってきて貰えますか?)

□I’m going to think about it.
(考えます)

買うか迷う時。「I’ll think about it」でも同じ意味ですが、やや上から目線な感じです。

□I’m looking for a gift for my family.
(家族へのプレゼントを探しています)

□What do you recommend for that?
(何かオススメするものはありますか?)

□How much is the post card?
(ポストカードはいくらですか?)

(一枚1ドルです)

(絶対気に入ってくれると思います)

見ているだけの時

(並んでいますか?)

(列の最後尾ですか?)

(割り込まないでください)

誰かが列に割り込んできたときに言います。

(現金で支払われますか?)

(アメリカドルは使えますか?)

ヨーロッパの中心街なら外貨を取り扱っている場合もあります。

(合計で78ドルです)

聞き直す際の便利なフレーズです。

□Sorry I didn’t catch it. What was that again?
(すみません、聞き取れませんでした。もう一度言ってもらえますか?)

(プレゼント包装はいかがですか?)

■Do you need them wrapped separately?
(別々に包装しましょうか?)

「fresh out of」=?を切らしたばかり、～を出たばかり

■Please let me go (and) check the stock.
(在庫確認をして参ります)

(このメダルは次いつ入荷予定ですか?)

■This medal will be in 2 weeks.
(このメダルは2週間後です)

何かの要望に断る

□Excuse me, could I possibly have 50 t-shirts of this model?
(すみません、このTシャツを50枚購入することは可能ですか?)

■Sorry, we cannot do that.
(申し訳有りませんが、それはできかねます)

買い物トラブル

□I’m sorry but I’m afraid that I forgot my wallet.
(すみません、財布を忘れました)

会計時に財布を忘れたことに気が付いた場合。

□Could I cancel it?

(キャンセルしてもいいですか?)

お釣りの間違い

□I haven’t got my change.
(お釣りをもらっていません)

□I haven’t got a receipt.
(レシートをもらっていません)

□I suppose you gave me the wrong change.
(お釣りが間違っていると思うのですが)

□I think you charged me 2 dollars more.
(2ドル分多く請求していると思います)

(この請求は何ですか?)

□I don’t think you include a discount for this apple.
(このリンゴは割引されていないと思うのですが)

□I think it’s too expensive.
(高すぎると思うのですが)

返金について

□What is the refund policy?
(返金ポリシーはなんですか?)

■You can get any items back but food up to two weeks after buying, but please don’t forget to bring the receipt with you. Otherwise, we cannot handle that.
(食べ物以外のどれでも購入から2週間までなら返金可能です。ただ、その時はレシートを忘れないようにしてください。そうでないと、返品を受けかねます)

■If you don’t get satisfied with the product you bought, you can get an exchange or refund within 60 days.
(購入された商品に満足して頂けなければ、60日以内なら交換・返金ともに可能です)

□How could I get the refund?
(どうやって返金を受け取れますか?)

■Refunds are expected to be the same way of paying as the original one.
(返金は元のお支払い方法と同様です)

■Credit card purchases is going to be refunded to the original credit card account.
(クレジット払いの場合、クレジットカードのアカウントへの返金となります)

返金不可の場合

■I’m so sorry but we don’t refund your money.
(大変申し訳ありませんが、返金はできません)

■I’m sorry but we cannot give you a refund because it already passed more than 60 days.
(すみませんが、60日を経過しているので返金は致しかねます)

■We cannot give you a refund without a receipt.
(レシートなしでは返金は致しかねます)

□I didn’t get a receipt from you.
(レシートをもらっていないのですが…)

万が一、レシートを貰っていない場合。ただ、大抵のケースで自分の責任になるので、購入時にはしっかり貰うようにしましょう。

返金の差額がある場合

(レシートはありますか?)

□Yes, here you are.
(はい、どうぞ)

■Well, there’s a difference in price so could you pay the difference to fill 3 dollars?
(料金に差額がありますね。差額分3ドルを支払っていただけますか?)

返品について

(これを返品したいのですが)

(レシートはありますか?)

返品の理由

■Could you please tell why you return this?
(返品の理由をお聞かせください)

□It’s just too big so it doesn’t fit me.
(ただ大きすぎるので、サイズが合いません)

□I got a wrong one.
(間違った商品を買ってしまいました)
